DJI Reports Savings of 410 Mt Water and Reduction of 51 Mt CO₂ with Agricultural Drones

26 may 2026

DJI presented its new global report on agricultural drones during Agrishow 2026 in Brazil, revealing that the use of agricultural drones has contributed to reducing approximately 51 million tons of carbon emissions and saving nearly 410 million tons of water worldwide.

According to the report published by DJI Agriculture, more than 600,000 of the company’s agricultural drones are already operating in over 100 countries and regions, used by hundreds of thousands of operators trained in precision agriculture applications.

The company indicated that these technologies are being used in crops such as soybeans, coffee, corn, sugarcane, and pastures, allowing for improved operational efficiency, reduced chemical use, and decreased soil compaction through precision aerial applications.

DJI also highlighted that the use of drones for localized spraying could reduce herbicide use by up to 35%, in addition to decreasing chemical drift and improving sustainability in agricultural operations.

The report also notes that various countries continue to update regulations to facilitate agricultural operations with drones. Among them are Brazil and Canada, where recent regulatory changes aim to simplify BVLOS operations, agricultural monitoring, and automated aerial spraying.

The company stated that it will continue expanding its global support network, which currently includes more than 3,500 service and repair centers, along with training programs supported by more than 7,000 certified instructors.

DJI maintains that agricultural drones continue to solidify their position as a key tool for precision agriculture, rural automation, and sustainability in the global agribusiness sector.
