Volocopter Introduces New Electric Motor Platform for eVTOLs

Volocopter announced the development of a new electric motor platform that integrates in-house designed hardware and software to optimize the performance of its eVTOL aircraft.

The platform stands out for its modular architecture, allowing for flexible component combinations to power models such as the VoloCity and VoloXPro. This approach facilitates scalability and adaptation to different operational needs within urban air mobility.

During testing, the XPRO motor underwent rigorous evaluations on full-scale test benches, focused on validating performance, durability, and safety under demanding standards.

According to the company, this new generation of motors offers greater cost efficiency, improved performance, and increased reliability compared to previous designs, strengthening both the production and future accessibility of its aircraft.

With this advancement, Volocopter continues to drive the development of key technological solutions to accelerate the adoption of urban air mobility.
