UK CAA Releases Future of Flight: BVLOS Roadmap to Drive Safe Drone Integration into UK Airspace

21-oct-2025

The UK Civil Aviation Authority (UKCAA) has unveiled its new Future of Flight: BVLOS Roadmap, which defines the operational pathways needed to unleash the economic and social potential of beyond-visual-line-of-sight (BVLOS) drone flight.

The document sets out a safe, realistic, and proportionate plan for the UK to achieve full implementation of BVLOS operations within the next three years, enabling drones to share airspace with other aircraft and perform critical tasks such as infrastructure inspections, medical deliveries, and emergency support.

This initiative positions the UK as a leader in the regulatory development of advanced air mobility, supporting both technological innovation and the sustainable expansion of the drone market.
