SAMSUNG E&A and DG Fuels Advance SAF Project in the USA with FEED Contract in Louisiana

15 Dec 2025

SAMSUNG E&A expands its presence in the clean energy sector after securing a FEED contract for a Sustainable Aviation Fuel plant in the USA, in collaboration with DG Fuels. The agreement is linked to the Louisiana SAF Production Project and represents a strategic step forward in the company’s global expansion in energy transition technologies.

The FEED contract is valued at approximately USD 15.7 million and covers the engineering design for a facility with the capacity to produce around 600,000 tons of SAF annually. The project also has significant potential to evolve into an EPC contract estimated at USD 3 billion, reinforcing its industrial and financial relevance within the sustainable fuels market.

The plant will utilize regional resources derived from waste, including agricultural byproducts and woody biomass, aligning with circular economy principles and the aviation sector’s decarbonization goals. As part of its technological scope, the project will integrate advanced blue hydrogen facilities, incorporating air separation units, autothermal reforming, and CO₂ capture, as well as green hydrogen solutions based on water electrolysis.

This development builds on SAMSUNG E&A’s recent experience with SAF projects in Asia, particularly in Malaysia, and reflects the consolidation of its global strategy focused on sustainable fuels, hydrogen, carbon capture, LNG, and ammonia. The initiative positions the company as a key player in the design of energy infrastructure aimed at reducing emissions and transforming the aviation sector internationally.
