Promising Advances in Sky-Drones: Toward More Precise Aerial Detection

July 8 2025

Months after beginning testing, Sky-Drones is showing real progress. Its system now operates reliably with 980×720 input video, detecting smaller aerial objects at greater distances than before. This breakthrough represents a key step toward implementation in edge-constrained computing environments.

The model continues to be refined in complex aerial scenarios, working with overlapping classes such as drones, manned aircraft, and birds, and considering varied movement patterns. The goal: to strengthen both onboard DAA (detection and avoidance) and Counter-UAS capabilities.

Despite still being in an early phase, current results in robustness and generalization are extremely encouraging.
