Meet DACCS: the technology that captures CO₂ directly from the air

June 24 2025

The Direct Air Carbon Capture and Storage (DACCS) system captures CO₂ directly from the air and locks it away long-term, either:
🔸 Stored in underground rock formations
🔸 Embedded in durable products

This CDR (Carbon Dioxide Removal) solution provides measurable and verifiable climate reduction.

📊 Key Facts:
► DACCS led carbon removal funding in 2024: $369 million USD raised, more than any other approach
► Removal potential by 2050: between 0.5 and 5 gigatons of CO₂/year
► There are already 27 active DAC plants worldwide — with hotspots in Iceland, Norway, Canada, the US, and Kenya
