In cooperation with CPC Corporation, Taiwan, Neste's SAF has been supplied as blended fuel to domestic carriers China Airlines and STARLUX Airlines at Kaohsiung International Airport and Taoyuan International Airport.

April 30 2025

For the first time, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) has been used on commercial flights from Taiwan. This blended fuel was supplied to Kaohsiung and Taoyuan International Airports and used by domestic carriers China Airlines and STARLUX Airlines.

The initiative was made possible through a collaboration with a state-owned energy company and an international SAF supplier, with the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the aviation sector. The use of SAF enables a significant reduction in emissions compared to conventional jet fuel.

This milestone represents a breakthrough in aviation energy transition efforts in the Asia-Pacific region, in response to the growing demand for sustainable solutions in air transport.
