CALB and GOVY Strengthen Strategic Partnership to Advance eVTOL Battery Technology and Low-Altitude Aviation in China

August 11 2025

Shanghai – CALB, one of China’s leading lithium battery suppliers, and Guangdong GOVY Technology Co., Ltd. (a flying vehicle subsidiary of GAC Group) signed a new agreement to strengthen their cooperation in developing power solutions for electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.

GOVY already uses CALB batteries in its AirCab model, launched in June 2025, which features one of the highest energy densities in the industry (over 300 Wh/kg) and 6°C fast charging capability. This eVTOL has received over 1,000 pre-orders and is undergoing certification, with deliveries expected by the end of 2026. CALB’s next-generation semi-solid-state batteries will reach 350 Wh/kg.

Both companies plan to promote power standardization for eVTOLs, contribute to the definition of airworthiness standards, and accelerate the integration of urban air mobility in China. This initiative is part of the national low-altitude economy strategy and seeks to make urban air transport safer, more efficient, and more accessible.
