Air India Limited and Indian Oil Corp Limited sign MoU for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) supply .

August 25 2025

Air India, the flagship airline of the Tata Group, and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the supply of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), marking a decisive step towards the decarbonization of aviation in India.

The collaboration reinforces both companies’ commitment to IATA’s net-zero emissions target by 2050, while supporting the country’s energy transition and compliance with the CORSIA scheme. The agreement builds on Indian Oil’s recent milestone, which became the first Indian company to achieve ISCC CORSIA certification for SAF production at its Panipat refinery.

Campbell Wilson, CEO and Managing Director of Air India, said: “Through this MoU with IndianOil, Air India is committed to supporting the Government of India’s initiatives to promote sustainable development in the aviation sector and driving its own sustainability goals to achieve IATA’s net-zero emissions target by 2050.”
