Wing Returns to the Bay Area with Drone Delivery Expansion

23 March 2026

On March 23, 2026, Wing announced its return and expansion into the San Francisco Bay Area, where it plans to deploy its ultra-fast drone delivery service in the coming months.

This market holds strategic value for Wing, as the company originated within Google X in 2012, conducting its initial tests on Google’s Mountain View campus. Now, it seeks to bring that experience directly to residential communities.

The company has surpassed 750,000 successful deliveries in cities like Houston, Atlanta, and Dallas, collaborating with major brands such as Walmart and DoorDash.

With this expansion, Wing aims to consolidate a nationwide drone-based logistics network focused on rapid deliveries of small items directly to homes, reducing delivery times, costs, and urban congestion.

This move reinforces the advancement of autonomous aerial logistics as a key last-mile solution in dense urban environments.
