Electra.aero Receives $1.9 Million SBIR Contract from the U.S. Army to Develop Hybrid-Electric Propulsion Systems

Electra.aero has been selected to receive a $1.9 million Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract from the U.S. Army to advance the research and development of hybrid-electric power and propulsion systems (HEPPS).


🔬 Strategic Collaboration Focused on Energy Innovation
This contract allows the U.S. Army to leverage Electra’s technical expertise in the design, development, and testing of hybrid-electric technologies, with a view to evaluating their applicability on current and future aviation platforms within the Armed Forces.

⚡ Advancing toward more efficient military aviation
The initiative seeks to explore energy solutions that improve operational performance, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and expand military aircraft capabilities through more sustainable and versatile systems.
