Wing and Walmart Launch Drone Delivery in Metro Atlanta

3 Dec 2025

Wing and Walmart announced the launch of the first drone delivery service in the Atlanta metro area, marking a new step in the nationwide expansion of ultra-fast deliveries. Starting December 3, six Walmart stores in Metro Atlanta will offer deliveries in five minutes or less to tens of thousands of homes. The service will be available at the Woodstock, Conyers, Dallas, Hiram, McDonough, and Loganville stores.

Customers will be able to receive groceries, gifts, over-the-counter medications, and household items via drones capable of flying at 60 mph (96 km/h) and 150 feet (45 meters) high, reducing 20-minute commutes in traffic to an average of five minutes or less. Wing highlighted that this launch makes Atlanta, renowned for its aviation leadership, the first major metropolitan area in its expansion plan with Walmart, which aims to reach 100 additional stores by 2026.

The rollout builds on the service’s success in Dallas-Fort Worth, where Wing makes thousands of deliveries each week and more than 75% of customers have used the service more than once in the past year. With Walmart located within 10 miles (16 km) of 90% of Americans, Metro Atlanta represents a strategic location for scaling this fast, reliable, and automated delivery service.
