Zipline to Expand Medical Delivery Network in Africa with Support from the U.S. State Department

25 Nov 2025

Zipline announced a significant step forward in expanding its automated medical delivery system in Africa, thanks to support from the U.S. State Department. After more than 1.8 million commercial deliveries and tens of thousands of lives saved, the company is preparing for a regional hyperscale.

The international support will allow Zipline to triple its artificial intelligence and robotics network on the continent, incorporating 10,000 new healthcare facilities and expanding its potential coverage to 130 million people. This growth will strengthen on-demand access to essential medicines and solidify a new model of healthcare and economic development based on advanced air logistics.

Zipline emphasized that this expansion represents a significant milestone in building faster, more efficient, and more equitable healthcare systems, reinforcing the role of autonomous delivery as critical infrastructure for the region.
