Uber Partners with Flytrex to Launch Its First Drone Delivery Service in the US

26-Sep-2025

Uber Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: UBER) announced a strategic partnership with Flytrex, Inc. to launch its first drone delivery service, marking an important step toward the future of autonomous logistics.

The project will begin later this year in Uber Eats pilot markets in the United States, combining Flytrex’s autonomous delivery system—one of the few providers authorized by the FAA for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations—with Uber’s global logistics platform and expertise. The goal is to offer consumers deliveries in minutes, reducing traffic congestion and emissions.

As part of this collaboration, Uber will make its first investment in drone technology, accelerating the development and deployment of this aerial logistics solution.

“With Flytrex, we are entering the next chapter: bringing the speed and sustainability of drone delivery to the Uber Eats platform, at scale, for the first time,” said Sarfraz Maredia, President of Mobility and Autonomous Delivery at Uber.

Flytrex has completed more than 200,000 deliveries in the U.S. in the past three years, proving that its drones can operate safely alongside manned aircraft. The integration with Uber’s network of restaurants, retailers, and customers promises to transform last-mile logistics, making the delivery of food, convenience items, and essential products faster, safer, and more sustainable.
