The Project GRIFFIN's solo flight was a success, with the RigiTech Eiger drone transporting a blood sample from Hopitaux Robert Schuman (Kirchberg) to Laboratoires Réunis in Junglinster.
July 10 2025
The flight, lasting approximately 10 minutes, followed a predefined route in coordination with the Luxembourg Civil Aviation Directorate (DAC). This operation demonstrates that drones can offer a safe, rapid, and sustainable alternative for the transport of sensitive medical supplies.
The event was attended by Ministers Yuriko Backes (Mobility), Martine Deprez (Health), and Lex Delles (Economy), reflecting the high institutional interest in this pioneering initiative.
🧪 Further test flights are planned to explore the potential for regular use of drones in healthcare, which could transform logistics operations in hospitals and laboratories.
A firm step toward integrating innovative aerial solutions into the healthcare system.
