● Marks a Crucial Step Toward the Start of FAA Flight Testing
● Company Remains on Track to Begin Flight Testing in Dubai by Midyear
Joby Aviation, Inc. (NYSE:JOBY), a developer of electric air taxis for commercial passenger service, announced today that it has reached a milestone in its aircraft test program, successfully completing flights with a full transition from vertical to cruise flight, and vice versa, with a pilot on board.
The transition from vertical to horizontal flight is a key attribute of the Joby aircraft design, allowing it to take off and land vertically like a helicopter while maintaining the efficiency and speed of a conventional fixed-wing aircraft in forward flight. This unique capability will allow Joby to provide fast, seamless passenger service directly to popular destinations.
