Diamond Aircraft Reorganizes Volocopter, Securing Its Future in Germany

Bruchsal, Germany – March 20, 2025 – The renowned Austrian company Diamond Aircraft Group, with over 40 years of experience in the aviation industry, has announced the integration of Volocopter, a pioneer in the development of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Volocopter’s headquarters will remain in Bruchsal, Germany.

This strategic integration will allow Diamond Aircraft to expand its portfolio into the promising electric urban air transport sector, optimize operating costs, and support Volocopter on its path to VoloCity certification by 2025. It also ensures the continuity of Volocopter’s highly skilled team and the evolution of its next-generation aircraft.

Bin Chen, President of Diamond Aircraft, highlighted the partnership as a key step in consolidating Europe as a hub for aviation innovation, while Tobias Wahl, Volocopter’s bankruptcy administrator, praised the team’s commitment and celebrated the strength of the new strategic partner.

With this transaction, Diamond Aircraft strengthens its leadership in general aviation and positions itself as a key player in the sustainable air mobility of the future.
