RigiTech's "Eiger" drone arrives at SAIL III
April 10 2025
RigiTech continues to consolidate its leadership in air logistics with its flagship drone, the Eiger, approaching validation for SAIL III operations under EASA regulations. This development represents a turning point for the sector, as it would position the Eiger as one of the first drones in Europe authorized to operate under this level of operational risk.
Why is achieving SAIL III relevant?
- It enables safe flights in more complex and populated environments.
- It facilitates connectivity between hospitals, laboratories, and remote areas.
- It expands the operational range of medical missions.
- It optimizes return on investment with greater social impact.
Currently, the Eiger successfully operates on more than 18 active BVLOS routes authorized under SAIL II, which has already enabled the establishment of efficient and routine air medical logistics in several European countries.
Designed with safety as its core:
- Long-range communication with triple redundancy.
- Redundant GNSS positioning.
- Parachute validated for emergency scenarios.
- Flight Termination System (FTS) supported by a design verification report.
With this new advancement, RigiTech not only drives innovation in UAV technology but also reaffirms its commitment to transforming healthcare through sustainable, efficient, and safe solutions.
