The investigations stem from an application by UK biodiesel producers concerned about changes in the market since a previous review in 2022. Recent data suggests the price gap has narrowed and that HVO could now compete directly with UK-produced biodiesel.
The investigations will determine whether HVO imports are being sold at unfairly low prices or are being subsidized, causing harm to the UK industry.
