TCab Tech Strengthens Its Position in Urban Air Mobility with Strategic Investment in B+ Round

On March 27, 2025, TCab Tech, a company developing electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, announced the completion of its strategic B+ round of financing. This investment, jointly led by Shanghai Grand Neo Bay Venture Capital and Zifeng Capital, marks a significant milestone in boosting the low-altitude economy in Shanghai and the Yangtze Delta region.

This round of financing is the first direct investment of local state capital in an eVTOL project since the implementation of the “Action Plan for the High-Quality Development of Shanghai’s Low-Altitude Economy Industry (2024-2027).” This endorsement underscores Shanghai’s commitment to promoting the eVTOL industry and recognizes TCab Tech’s technical capabilities and growth potential.

Collaboration between state-owned capital and manufacturers is essential for the commercialization of eVTOL operations, ranging from infrastructure construction and airspace management to the future operation of “air taxis.” Since the release of the action plan, Shanghai has taken multiple measures to foster the development of the low-altitude economy, supporting leading companies and promoting the growth of the industrial chain, including key components such as electric motors, control systems, and composite materials.

Since its founding, TCab Tech has been dedicated to the development of the E20 eVTOL, a fixed-wing aircraft with a tilt-rotor configuration. The E20 stands out for its high safety and reliability, operational efficiency, and low manufacturing and operating costs. Designed for applications such as low-altitude tourism and intercity travel, the E20 has a maximum range of 200 km and a cruising speed of 260 km/h, being especially efficient on journeys between 30 and 150 km.
