Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest airline, has signed an agreement with Archer Aviation to deploy the Midnight electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft under the “Launch Edition” program. This program aims to establish a practical and replicable commercialization model to deploy the Midnight in multiple pioneering markets. Ethiopian Airlines plans to deploy an initial fleet of Midnight aircraft, supported by a team of Archer pilots, technicians, and engineers to facilitate the start of operations. This agreement underscores Ethiopian Airlines’ commitment to innovation and sustainability in the African aviation sector.
