Sarla Aviation and Bluedot Air Ambulance Advance eVTOL Air Ambulance in India
8 June 2026
Sarla Aviation announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bluedot Air Ambulance, an international medical transport provider accredited by EURAMI, to advance the development of the ambulance variant of its Shunya eVTOL aircraft.
The collaboration aims to establish the operational and medical foundations for future electric air ambulance operations in India. As part of the agreement, both organizations will work together on the design of the Shunya’s medical cabin, the development of an operational framework for aeromedical services, training programs for specialized crews, and the assessment of emergency corridors in Bengaluru and other regions of the country.
Bluedot Air Ambulance is accredited by the European Aero-Medical Institute (EURAMI), an international standard that certifies compliance with requirements related to patient safety, clinical protocols, medical personnel training, equipment quality, and regulatory compliance in aeromedical operations.
According to Sarla Aviation, this collaboration aims to facilitate the development of a platform aligned with international air ambulance standards, while the company continues to pursue future regulatory approvals from Indian aviation and health authorities.
The initiative reflects the growing interest in using eVTOL technologies in emergency medical response applications, a segment that could benefit from faster response times and greater connectivity between hospitals and specialized care facilities.
