Skyports Infrastructure and Korean Air Advance eVTOL Operational Technology for Advanced Air Mobility in South Korea

27 Feb 2026

Skyports Infrastructure and Korean Air signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on February 26, 2026, during Drone Show Korea in Busan, South Korea, with the goal of developing a comprehensive technology platform for managing eVTOL operations in real-world environments.

The alliance aims to integrate Skyports’ Vertiport Automation System (VAS) with Korean Air’s ACROSS (Air Control and Routing Orchestrated Skyway System) platform. This combination will enable the coordination of vertiport operations, flight control, and low-altitude air traffic management, creating a digital architecture designed to support safe, efficient, and scalable commercial eVTOL services.

The development will include technical testing, operational validations, joint demonstrations, and pilot programs focused on interoperability between ground support systems and air traffic control platforms. The strategic objective is to establish global operating standards for the emerging Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) industry.

Skyports contributes its expertise in the design, construction, and operation of vertiports, including projects in Dubai—where commercial eVTOL services are expected to launch before the end of 2026—a network under development in Abu Dhabi, and the transition of the Downtown Skyport in New York to AAM operations. The company is also developing Korea’s first vertiport network on Jeju Island, with commercial operations projected to begin in 2028.

Korean Air, for its part, contributes its expertise in flight operations control systems and air traffic management. Its ACROSS platform is designed to integrate AAM aircraft operations within urban airspace, consolidating a digital infrastructure capable of supporting the future ecosystem of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.

This collaboration reinforces South Korea’s position as a strategic market for eVTOL technology deployment and marks a key step toward commercial Advanced Air Mobility operations in Asia and the Middle East.
