ZenaTech Successfully Tests IQ Nano Drones with Swarm Technology for Inventory Management in Defense and Government

29 Jan 2026

ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) (FSE: 49Q) (BMV: ZENA), a provider of technology solutions specializing in AI-powered drones, Drones as a Service (DaaS), enterprise SaaS, and quantum computing, announced the successful completion of advanced testing of its ZenaDrone IQ Nano indoor drones, integrated with Swarm technology, for inventory management applications in critical environments for the government and defense sectors.

The tests involved four IQ Nano drones operating simultaneously and autonomously in a GPS-less environment, each following independent flight paths within a simulated warehouse. During the operation, the drones performed fast and accurate barcode scans on packages, demonstrating the platform’s ability to perform highly accurate automated inventory management in complex, enclosed facilities.

The success of this trial validates ZenaTech’s scalable, software-based solution, designed to address key challenges in defense logistics, asset control, and mission-critical inventory tracking, in a context where defense organizations globally are increasingly prioritizing automation, operational accuracy, and mission readiness.

Shaun Passley, Ph.D., CEO of ZenaTech, emphasized that this achievement represents a significant step forward in modernizing defense logistics. According to the company, many facilities such as warehouses, armories, and depots still rely on manual, slow, and error-prone processes. ZenaTech’s autonomous platform aims to deliver measurable improvements in data accuracy, operational efficiency, and responsiveness—critical elements for managing strategic assets.

Swarm technology, which enables multiple drones to work autonomously and in a coordinated manner, sharing information and tasks, is gaining traction in both commercial and defense markets. This architecture enables faster operations, greater reliability, and system-level efficiency, overcoming the limitations of individual drones, especially in large, highly complex environments that require real-time visibility.

In addition to indoor inventory management, ZenaTech stated that it continues to develop additional applications of Swarm technology, including wildfire management and other critical missions, expanding the potential of autonomy as a scalable platform. Although some of these applications are still in early stages, the company believes that drone swarms represent a structural shift in how complex autonomous operations are executed.

The ZenaDrone IQ Nano is a compact indoor drone, approximately 50 x 50 centimeters in size, specifically designed to operate in GPS-less environments, such as industrial warehouses and military installations. Optimized for barcode scanning, security, and inventory control, it incorporates advanced obstacle detection and avoidance technology and is fully compatible with AI-controlled drone fleets and swarms, making it a key component of ZenaTech’s autonomous ecosystem.

ZenaTech continues to position itself as a leading player in the development of autonomous solutions for mission-critical applications, combining advanced software, intelligent drone platforms, and scalable service models, with an operational presence in North America, Europe, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates.
