EHang and RACE Sign Strategic Agreement to Boost Advanced Air Mobility in Spain

28 Jan 2026

Madrid, Spain, January 27, 2026 — EHang Holdings Limited (Nasdaq: EH), a world leader in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) technology, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Royal Automobile Club of Spain (RACE), the country’s leading automobile club and a founding member of the International Automobile Federation (FIA). The agreement aims to explore joint initiatives at the intersection of advanced air mobility, motorsport innovation, and next-generation mobility services.

The agreement was signed during the FITUR 2026 international tourism trade fair in Madrid by Victoria Xiang, EHang’s Chief Operating Officer for Europe and Latin America, and Carmelo Sanz de Barros, President of RACE and the RACE Foundation, as well as President of the FIA Senate. The event was attended by Luis Miguel Torres, Director General of Transport and Mobility for the Community of Madrid, along with other high-ranking institutional and mobility sector representatives.

Within the framework of the memorandum of understanding, EHang and RACE will collaborate on initiatives that integrate RACE’s extensive experience in motorsports, road safety, training, and management of high-performance environments with EHang’s pioneering autonomous eVTOL aircraft technology and its operational capabilities in Air Navigation (AAM). The cooperation includes key activities such as technical testing, demonstration flights, operational validation, ecosystem development, and public participation programs.

One of the central elements of the agreement is the execution of demonstration and validation flights in controlled environments, including operations at the Madrid Jarama Circuit – RACE, one of Spain’s most iconic motorsport venues. These tests will allow for the evaluation of the safe integration of eVTOL aircraft in real-world contexts, as well as their potential complementarity with ground transportation.

Additionally, both organizations will maintain an active dialogue with regulatory authorities and key stakeholders in the sector to contribute to the development of safety standards, regulatory frameworks, and best practices applicable to Advanced Air Mobility. The agreement also includes communication, outreach, and education initiatives aimed at raising public awareness of the role of Advanced Air Mobility and its contribution to more sustainable mobility.

Victoria Xiang emphasized that the collaboration with RACE represents a strategic opportunity to accelerate the safe integration of autonomous eVTOL aircraft in Europe, leveraging RACE’s century-long experience in safety, high-performance operations, and complex infrastructure.

For his part, Carmelo Sanz de Barros emphasized that this agreement reinforces Madrid’s position as an international leader in mobility and motorsports, in a key year in which the city will host, for the first time, the Formula E and Formula 1 World Championships.

From an institutional perspective, Jorge F. Delgado, CEO of RACE and President of FIA Region 1, highlighted that the collaboration with EHang reflects the commitment of RACE and the FIA to advancing innovative solutions that complement ground transportation, enhance safety, and contribute to a more connected and sustainable transport system.

At the regional level, Luis Miguel Torres stated that Advanced Air Mobility represents a strategic opportunity for the Community of Madrid, allowing it to strengthen its competitiveness, its innovation ecosystem, and its position as a global hub for future mobility through public-private partnerships.

The agreement leverages EHang’s flagship technology, the EH216-S, the world’s first autonomous eVTOL certified for passenger transport, which is now ready to begin commercial operations in China. With all-electric propulsion, vertical takeoff and landing capabilities, an intelligent flight control system, and an integrated command and control architecture, the EH216-S represents a key milestone for the global implementation of Advanced Air Mobility.
