ZenaTech’s Obtains FAA Part 137 Approval for Agricultural Drone Operations, Addressing a $6 Billion Global Agricultural Drone Market Set to Grow to $24 Billion by 2032

April 28 2025

ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) (FSE: 49Q) (BMV: ZENA), a technology company specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) drone solutions, Drone as a Service (DaaS), enterprise SaaS, and quantum computing, announced today that its subsidiary ZenaDrone has received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval under 14 CFR Part 137. This approval allows ZenaDrone to conduct commercial agricultural aerial spraying and precision agriculture operations in the United States.

With this authorization, ZenaDrone will begin final testing and deployment of the ZenaDrone 1000 for the aerial application of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, fertilizers, and seeds, targeting agricultural, environmental, and government customers. The company plans to offer these solutions through its Drone as a Service (DaaS) business model, in addition to direct sales of hardware and solutions to large farms, agribusiness companies, and cooperatives.

“FAA approval under Part 137 now allows our team to complete testing and begin sales of our agricultural solutions. Drones offer a more precise, efficient, cost-effective, and safer alternative to traditional methods, reducing chemical use, crop damage, and manual labor, as well as accessing hard-to-reach areas,” said Shaun Passley, Ph.D., CEO of ZenaTech.

According to data from Fortune Business Insights, the global agricultural drone market is projected to grow from $6.10 billion in 2024 to $23.78 billion in 2032, driven by demand for precision agriculture, technological advancements, government incentive programs, and increased awareness of its effectiveness.

The ZenaDrone 1000 is an autonomous vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) drone, designed as an eight-rotor quadcopter spread across two fixed wings, measuring 12 x 7 feet. It boasts high flight stability, maneuverability, and a payload capacity of up to 40 kilos. It utilizes innovative software technology, AI, advanced sensors, and specialized accessories for tasks such as spraying. Its foldable wings allow it to be easily transported on the back of a truck.

In addition, ZenaTech’s DaaS model will incorporate the ZenaDrone 1000 and the IQ series of drones to offer service solutions such as land surveys, power line inspections, and industrial cleaning, under an affordable subscription or pay-as-you-go model similar to Uber. This will allow customers easy access to high-precision services without the need to purchase, operate, or maintain the drones.
