The UK Government has announced an investment of over £20 million to develop and expand the use of drones and air taxis in its airspace. This initiative, part of the Future Flight Challenge program, seeks to accelerate the adoption of innovative air mobility technologies.
Program Objectives
The investment is designed to foster solutions that:
Reduce road congestion through the use of air taxis.
Improve drone logistics for the transport of medicines and medical supplies in remote areas.
Drive a cleaner and more sustainable aviation system through electric and low-emission vehicles.
Funding has been awarded to several innovative projects that will contribute to the safe integration of advanced aircraft into UK airspace.
