SkyNRG Achieves Financial Close for DSL-01, Its Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Plant in the Netherlands

13 Feb 2026

SkyNRG announced the financial close of DSL-01, its Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) facility located in Delfzijl, the Netherlands, marking the definitive step from the development phase to the construction stage. Construction of the project has already begun.

Once operational, DSL-01 will become the first facility in Europe dedicated exclusively to the production of SAF, reinforcing the continent’s role in the transition to sustainable aviation fuels.

The financial close is the result of several years of work and collaboration among stakeholders in the aviation, energy, and finance sectors. SkyNRG acknowledged the support of its shareholders—including KLM, Macquarie Group, and APG—as well as the support of partners, lenders, and advisors involved in the project.

Since its founding in 2009, SkyNRG has championed the development of SAF as a key tool for the decarbonization of air transport. With funding secured and construction underway, the company is moving closer to its goal of making sustainable flight a reality for future generations.
