TOYOTA, Japan, October 10, 2025 — Japanese company SkyDrive Inc., a leading manufacturer of eVTOL aircraft, announced the successful completion of its public demonstration flight campaign for the SKYDRIVE (Type SD-05).

The flights took place for approximately a month and a half and attracted large crowds. The first phase, from July 31 to August 24, took place at the Mobility Experience section of the Expo 2025 Osaka site.

Following an opening ceremony on September 13, a second series of public flights took place from September 14 to 23 at Osakako Vertiport, a facility developed exclusively for eVTOL aircraft by Osaka Metro Co., Ltd., operator of the city’s subway system.

Given that Osakako Vertiport is located in an urban area surrounded by housing, businesses, and entertainment centers, this second phase marked a significant step forward in public acceptance of eVTOLs.

Prior to the public flights, SkyDrive conducted a series of familiarization flights between September 6 and 12, which, along with subsequent demonstrations, formed an 18-day consecutive operational program, the longest of its kind in an urban environment, according to the company.
