SkyDrive and JR East Strengthen Collaboration with eVTOL Exhibition in Tokyo

2025-September-08

SkyDrive, a Japanese eVTOL aircraft manufacturer, and East Japan Railway Company (JR East) held an exhibition in Takanawa Gateway City, Tokyo, from August 29 to 31, 2025. The event showcased how future travel could integrate train transfers with flights on electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, highlighting the “railway x eVTOL” combined mobility concept.

During the exhibition, a pre-order for a SKYDRIVE aircraft by JR East was announced, marking a further step forward in the strategic cooperation between the two companies. This step follows recent milestones such as the partnership signed in February to explore air taxi tourism services, JR East’s financial investment in July, and the ongoing promotion of intermodal transportation solutions in Tokyo.

The collaboration between SkyDrive and JR East reflects a joint effort to position Japan as a leader in advanced air mobility and sustainable tourism.
