Rotron Aerospace and LIG Nex1 Forge Strategic Alliance to Boost Next-Generation UAVs

Rotron Aerospace (UK), specializing in propulsion systems and unmanned platforms, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with LIG Nex1, a leading defense industry company in South Korea. The agreement establishes a strategic collaboration aimed at accelerating the development of next-generation unmanned aerial systems, with a focus on the Medium UAV Common Platform (MUCP) program and future related projects.

The alliance combines Rotron’s expertise in advanced UAV propulsion with LIG Nex1’s capabilities in systems architecture, integration, and operational validation, creating a cooperative foundation to strengthen sovereign capabilities and open opportunities in South Korea, the Pacific, and global markets.

Rotron Aerospace CTO and founder Gilo Cardozo emphasized that this partnership “reflects a commitment to developing high-performance propulsion solutions that increase the reliability and range of next-generation unmanned platforms,” underscoring the agreement’s relevance to meeting national and allied defense requirements.

The Memorandum of Understanding will remain in effect until 2032, establishing a long-term roadmap for joint innovation and technological expansion.
