Neste Celebrates the 15th Anniversary of its Singapore Refinery, the World’s Largest Renewable Diesel and SAF Facility

4 Nov 2025

Neste, a global leader in sustainable fuels, is celebrating the 15th anniversary of its Singapore refinery, a project that marked a turning point in the company’s transformation toward renewable fuels. Opened in 2010, this plant was Neste’s first major investment outside of Finland and in Asia, with an initial capacity of 800,000 tons per year of renewable diesel.

In 2023, the refinery completed a €1.6 billion expansion, increasing its total capacity to 2.6 million tons per year and integrating a supply chain for SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) to Singapore’s Changi Airport, facilitating direct access to SAF in the Asia-Pacific region.

Neste’s Singapore plant is currently the world’s largest renewable diesel and SAF production facility. Site Director Sami Wasström said, “We are incredibly proud of our achievements and progress to date, and together with the strong Neste team, we look forward to building a more sustainable future for the next generation.”
