Jet Zero Tours Pongamia Trial Plantation in Queensland for SAF Production
2025-September-02
This Wednesday, Jet Zero will conduct a guided tour of its Pongamia trial plantation in Powlathanga, Central Queensland, with the participation of various stakeholders. The 10-hectare trial evaluates the potential of Pongamia, a native, drought-tolerant oilseed tree, as a feedstock for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production.
The project also seeks to demonstrate silvopastoral benefits by integrating plantations with livestock grazing, optimizing both agricultural productivity and environmental outcomes.
The tour will be led by CEO Ed Mason, Industrial Manager Adam Douglas, and Project Engineer and Agronomist Ketti Ketmontri. Attendees will learn about the solar and irrigation facilities, and participate in the Pongamia tree planting. The day will conclude with an informal barbecue, which will serve as a space to discuss Jet Zero’s commitment to generating new economic opportunities through agricultural crops destined for biofuels.
