Finnair Launches SAF Service for Corporate Customers

25-Sep-2025

Finnair has launched the Finnair for Business SAF service, designed to enable corporate customers to contribute to emissions reductions by supporting the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). This program allows companies to monitor the actual emissions of their business travel, co-finance their SAF use, and receive an audited certificate that they can include in their sustainability reports.

Emission reductions are allocated through a booking and claim model, reducing climate impact without the need for SAF to be physically loaded onto the customer’s flight. Finnair is collaborating with producers such as Neste to promote the use of SAF, which can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% over its lifecycle.

In 2024, 0.5% of Finnair’s fuel purchases were SAF, and this year the goal is to triple that proportion. Currently, eight corporate customers support the use of SAF, and more than 31,000 passengers have voluntarily contributed to their bookings. The airline is also advancing innovative projects, such as its collaboration with Liquid Sun for the production of eSAF in Finland.
