Electra Supports DOT and FAA eIPP to Accelerate Safe eVTOL Integration in the United States

26 Feb 2026

Electra.aero reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP), an initiative led by state and local entities with the support of the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), aimed at accelerating the practical integration of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) into the national airspace.

The “Rule of Six” as the Foundation for Design

Electra maintains that the large-scale success of AAM depends on simultaneously fulfilling six fundamental principles: access, quietness, payload, range, affordability, and safety. Under this “Rule of Six,” the company is driving a point-to-point strategy called Direct Aviation, aimed at building public trust, serving communities, and ensuring reliable operations within the U.S. air system.

eIPP: A Systemic Approach and Operational Learning

The eIPP program reflects a holistic approach by prioritizing real-time initial operations, infrastructure coordination—conceived as a complete ecosystem—and close collaboration between regulators and industry. This framework allows for the identification of which solutions are ready to operate, which require adjustments, and how to scale responsibly.

Projected benefits of the program include:

Expanded affordable air transportation options
Greater efficiency in regional travel
Strengthened medical flights and emergency missions
Delivery of critical cargo in urgent situations

Electra announced its active participation in various leading eIPP applications alongside state, local, and regional partners, highlighting that early and operational participation facilitates better decision-making, greater institutional preparedness, and sustainable public benefits.

Progress Measured by Performance

The company emphasized that the differentiating value of eIPP lies in its focus on early, consistent progress based on real results. Through concrete missions and shared learning, the program aligns expectations and lays the foundation for responsible growth of the eVTOL sector in the United States.

For Electra, this approach aligns with its design philosophy: developing aircraft that meet comprehensive performance standards from the outset and respond to the needs of the communities they will serve.
