Electra Secures $115 Million Series B Round to Accelerate Its Ultra-Short Takeoff Hybrid Aircraft
April 23 2025
Aerospace company Electra.aero, a pioneer in hybrid-electric aviation solutions, has successfully closed a $115 million Series B round led by Prysm Capital. This significant investment will allow the company to advance to the pre-production and certification phase of its innovative EL9 Ultra Short model, a hybrid-electric aircraft capable of taking off and landing in just 150 feet of runway—one-tenth of the space required by conventional aircraft of similar size.
With the addition of Jay Park to its Board of Directors and the backing of world-class investors, Electra is accelerating its mission to transform air transportation with its “Direct Aviation” concept, a new model of air connectivity that eliminates dependence on large airports, enabling more direct and efficient access between communities.
The EL9 is designed to operate in remote locations or without airport infrastructure, thanks to its quiet and efficient operation. This makes it an ideal solution not only for passengers, but also for logistics, cargo transportation, and defense missions in challenging environments.
