EHang Holdings Limited (Nasdaq: EH), a global leader in Urban Air Mobility (UAM) technology, announced that its subsidiary, Guangdong EHang General Aviation Co., Ltd., and its joint venture in Hefei, Hefei HeYi Aviation Co., Ltd., have obtained the first Air Operator Certificates (AOCs) for civil unmanned aerial vehicles for passenger transport, issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

This milestone officially marks the beginning of the era of manned flight in China’s low-altitude economy, allowing citizens and consumers to purchase tickets for low-altitude tourism, city tours, and other commercial passenger flights at related operating sites in Guangzhou and Hefei. In the future, operators are expected to gradually expand their services to other scenarios, such as urban transportation, based on legal and compliant operating conditions.

The issuance of these first AOCs sets a new benchmark for the low-altitude economy and urban air mobility, unleashing the more powerful vitality of new quality productive forces. EHang has already achieved multiple historic certification breakthroughs, including the first type certificate, standard airworthiness certificate, and production certificate for unmanned eVTOL aircraft intended for passenger transport.

With the recent AOC, EHang becomes the first eVTOL company to achieve the full suite of regulatory certifications. This achievement represents a significant step toward the commercialization and mass adoption of low-altitude manned flight services.
