EcoCeres Celebrates First SAF Shipment from Malaysia to Europe with Mitsui & Co.

16 Dec 2025

December 2025 marks a significant milestone for EcoCeres with the departure of its first shipment of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to METS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., Ltd. The cargo departed from the port of Tanjung Langsat in Johor, Malaysia, bound for Europe, fulfilling the company’s commitment made at the beginning of the year to deliver its first batch of SAF before the end of 2025.

This inaugural shipment represents a strategic advancement beyond the logistical achievement, reinforcing EcoCeres’ contribution to the decarbonization of the aviation sector and consolidating Malaysia’s position as a competitive player in the production and export of SAF in Southeast Asia. The project also highlights the coordination between local teams in Johor, regional operations, and collaboration with key international partners.

The alliance with METS and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. has been central to making this transaction a reality, strengthening the supply chain and facilitating access for Malaysian-produced SAF to European markets. Against a backdrop of sustained growth in global demand for renewable fuels, EcoCeres remains focused on expanding its production capacity, strengthening its logistics networks, and supporting airlines in achieving their sustainability and emissions reduction goals.

With this first shipment, EcoCeres consolidates its position in the international renewable fuels market and lays the groundwork for new milestones in the development of low-carbon energy solutions for aviation.
