BETA TECHNOLOGIES Completes 125-Nuclear-Mile Cross-Border Electric Flight Between the United Kingdom and France
June 13 2025
BETA Technologies has reached a new milestone in electric aviation by successfully completing a 125-nautical-mile (approximately 232 km) flight from Lydd, United Kingdom, to Pontoise, France. This route included a challenging 50-nautical-mile leg over open water, highlighting the capability and reliability of its electric aircraft.
During the operation, the aircraft used 126.4 kWh of energy, representing an estimated cost of just $20.70 USD. It also landed with over 70 kWh in IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) reserves, reinforcing its operational viability under demanding safety standards.
This flight represents an important advancement for sustainable air mobility, demonstrating that medium-haul electric flights are now technically possible, safe, and economically viable.
With international operations like this, BETA Technologies consolidates its position as a leader in the development of all-electric aviation solutions for the future of transportation.
