14 Jan 2026
Bain & Company has signed an agreement to purchase 9,000 tons of direct air capture (DAC) carbon removal from 1PointFive over a three-year period, marking its first acquisition of DAC credits.
The credits will be generated from 1PointFive’s Stratos DAC facility in Texas (USA) and will be delivered progressively over the agreed term. The transaction is part of Bain’s strategy to address its residual operational emissions and advance its commitment to net-negative emissions.
With this purchase, Bain moves up to 33rd place in the global ranking of DAC buyers, according to CDR.fyi. 1PointFive, meanwhile, consolidates its position as one of the leading suppliers in the market, with more than 1.35 million tons of DAC sold to date, maintaining its ninth-place ranking among suppliers.
The agreement reinforces the growing corporate interest in direct air capture solutions as a complement to emissions reduction strategies and underscores the role of direct air capture (DAC) as a key tool for achieving long-term climate goals.
