Avioxx Receives UK Government Funding to Advance Sustainable Aviation Fuels

2 Feb 2026

Avioxx has been selected to receive funding from the UK Government through the UK Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Clearing House, an initiative led by the Department for Transport (DfT) to accelerate the development, certification, and commercialization of next-generation sustainable aviation fuels.

The DfT has backed four innovative companies in the SAF sector, including Avioxx, Clean Planet Technologies, Green Lizard Technologies, and Zero Petroleum, with the aim of driving technological solutions that contribute to the decarbonization of aviation.

At its facility in Cheshire, UK, Avioxx produces fuel from waste using an integrated Fischer-Tropsch process, achieving successful operational results. The funding will allow the company to advance its ASTM D7566 certification testing, supporting the development of the fuel produced in its X25 reactor and bringing it closer to commercial production.

This institutional support reinforces the strategic role of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) in reducing emissions from the aviation sector and underscores the United Kingdom’s ambition to position itself as a global leader in sustainable aviation.
