Avioxx Appoints NIRAS as Engineering Partner for Next-Generation SAF Facilities

Avioxx has appointed NIRAS, a European consultancy specializing in sustainable engineering and construction, to lead the design and development of its waste-to-sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plants in the United Kingdom.

The agreement includes a 5,000 tonnes/year demonstration plant and the base design for a 32,000 tonnes/year commercial facility, marking a key step in the expansion of Avioxx’s SAF technologies.

Founded in Denmark and with operations in more than 20 countries, NIRAS is recognized for its expertise in decarbonization, waste management, and renewable energy, having developed low-emission industrial projects across Europe.

The partnership reinforces Avioxx’s commitment to sustainability and technical excellence, integrating solutions based on waste conversion, solid oxide fuel cells, and Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, with the goal of moving toward a net-zero aviation fuel.
