Avia Solutions Group and DHL Express Accelerate Use of SAF to Reduce Emissions

July 10 2025

Avia Solutions Group, the world’s largest provider of ACMI services, has partnered with DHL Express to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) as part of the GoGreen Plus program.

🌍 Thanks to the basic GoGreen Plus model, Avia Solutions Group managed to reduce its emissions associated with DHL shipments by 12.61% between January and April 2025, equivalent to 30.6 tons of CO₂.

📦 The collaborative approach includes multiple group subsidiaries and demonstrates how major aviation players can move toward more sustainable operations using SAF.

đź’¬ “We want to demonstrate that this solution is viable on a large scale and motivate other companies to follow the same path,” said Jonas Janukenas, CEO of Avia Solutions Group.

GoGreen Plus enables customers to reduce their emissions within the logistics sector by using SAF produced from waste products such as used cooking oil. The fuel can reduce emissions by up to 80% compared to fossil fuels.
