Archer Aviation to Supply Electric Propulsion System to Anduril and EDGE Group for the "Omen" Autonomous Aircraft
18 Nov 2025
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – Archer Aviation Inc. (NYSE: ACHR) today announced the signing of a commercial agreement to supply its electric powertrain technology to Anduril Industries and EDGE Group. This technology will be integrated into the “Omen” autonomous aerial vehicle system, recently unveiled by Anduril.
This transaction marks the first time Archer has commercialized its propulsion technology to a third party, expanding its operations beyond the manufacture of its own eVTOL aircraft, the “Midnight.”
The agreement stipulates the supply of battery packs and electric motors designed and manufactured by Archer at its U.S. facilities.
Shared Technology: The propulsion system is the same one currently used in the “Midnight” eVTOL, now adapted to meet the requirements of the “Omen” unmanned aircraft.
Demand Confirmed: The United Arab Emirates has formalized a commitment for the initial acquisition of 50 Omen systems, ensuring immediate demand for the technology supplied by Archer.
New Business Line: With this move, Archer opens an additional revenue stream as a supplier of high-performance aerospace components for defense and commercial applications.
The collaboration allows Anduril and EDGE Group to utilize a propulsion system that is already proven and in the industrialization phase.
“While most people see our Midnight eVTOL as an airplane, we see Midnight as a platform that houses a wide range of exciting new aerospace technologies that will be leveraged far beyond our own aircraft. Our powertrain agreement with Anduril is the first of what we hope will be many examples of this,” said Adam Goldstein, founder and CEO of Archer.
Shane Arnott, senior vice president of engineering at Anduril, commented: “We have been working on the Omen for more than five years. By combining Archer’s team’s expertise in propulsion systems technology with Anduril’s innovation, we have refined our propulsion solution to achieve the range, speed, and payload capacity required for the Omen to be operationally relevant across a variety of dual-use missions. The maturity and reliability of Archer’s propulsion systems platform mitigate the risks associated with our plans to deliver a production version of the Omen to our customers on a large scale.
